Trip to Bavaria
This company outing took the NewTelco team to Bavaria, likely the most enchanting of all the German states with its age-old traditions and customs, its very own anthem and its unique dialect. We, too, fell under the spell of the magical landscape, the picturesque scenery and the spectacular mountains during our trip.
Friday morning – we’re off! A chartered bus took the NewTelco staff on a pleasant, stress-free ride to the Burghotel Bären, nestled within the Allgäuer Seenplatte at the foot of the Pfrontner mountains in Germany’s southern Allgäu region. A breathtaking panoramic view and the cordial and friendly hotel staff greeted us upon arrival.
After settling into our rooms, we met for dinner in the cosy old-Bavarian hotel restaurant. The trip would have been worth it alone for the fresh Allgäu dishes featuring seasonal specialities.
After our hungry troupe had their fill, we moved on to the Bären hotel bar. We concluded our long first day with Bavarian medleys and toasted with the beguiling Allgäu “Blutwurz” cordial.
The next day, the team could finally take in some of Bavaria’s stunning scenery. Its dense forests, flowering fields, crystal-clear rivers and lofty mountains just beg to be explored by foot. After a tasty breakfast, we headed off to tour the mountains. Our starting point was Breitenberg, a ski resort near the Austrian border. Under a brilliant blue sky, we had an easy ride up the mountain on a chairlift. But not all the way up because the upper reaches of Allgäu’s Pfrontner mountains should be surmounted! NewTelco’s destination was the Ostler Hütte at an altitude of 1838 meters. After our successful conquering of the mountain, our evening was filled with a hearty meal, first-rate Bavarian music and much more…
Crowning our company trip was our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, the royal palace built by King Ludwig II, which completely captivated all of us. It apparently had the same effect on the masterminds behind Disneyland Paris as they used this very castle as their own prototype.
Later that evening, NewTelco headed back to Frankfurt with all in agreement: The trip was a complete success!
